Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP announced today that three new partners – Dennis Doucette, Eli Mansour and Jason Femrite – have joined the firm’s Business and Technology Practice Team and will work out of Procopio’s newly opened Del Mar Heights office.

“We continually look for strategic growth opportunities that make sense to our clients and the firm,” said Managing Partner Tom Turner.  “Dennis, Jason and Eli have outstanding qualifications and will be valuable assets to our corporate practice.”

Doucette practices in corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and venture financing. His mergers and acquisitions experience includes representation of buyers and sellers in mergers, stock and asset purchases, management buyouts, and related transactions.  Doucette has significant experience with incorporations, corporate stock issuances, recapitalizations and reorganizations, stock restriction agreements, officers and directors advice, securities compliance, corporate governance, stock option plans, privacy/Internet issues, distributor/license agreements, audit committee investigations and contract preparation.  He received his bachelor and master's degrees in economics from the University of Southern California prior to earning his law degree cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1986.   Doucette has been recognized by Super Lawyers: Business Edition (2011) and San Diego Super Lawyers (2010) in the area of Securities and Corporate Finance, and by The Daily Transcript: San Diego County Top Attorneys (2010) for Corporate Transactional law.  Doucette is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell® and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Diego School of Law.

Mansour’s diverse transactional practice includes international business and intellectual property transactions, licensing, equipment finance and aviation law.  He has extensive experience in a wide range of international business and intellectual property transactions with an emphasis on development, protection and licensing of technology and related intellectual property. Mansour has assisted clients in drafting and negotiating software and technology development, manufacturing, distribution and licensing agreements, device discovery agreements, joint venture agreements, and technology assignment and transfer transactions. Femrite's practice focuses on the representation of both private and publicly held companies, funds and investment firms in a wide range of transactions from structure and formation to capitalization and finance, and sale and acquisition. His emphasis is in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate and venture finance, securities, and general corporate matters. His experience in these areas includes the representation of both buyers and sellers in mergers, management buyouts, stock and assets sales and private placements. His clients span many industries, including biotechnology, cleantech, action sports, financial institutions, automotive and manufacturing.  Femrite earned his law degree cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1999 and is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell®.

Doucette, Mansour and Femrite all join Procopio from  Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps.  Procopio will initially take over the former Luce space on High Bluff Drive on a short term basis, but will soon seek to expand in the area on a longer term basis.

“We see Del Mar Heights as a nice complement to our downtown and Carlsbad offices,” said Turner, “and look at it as a strategic growth area, particularly for our corporate and intellectual property practices.”
