Procopio Partner Elected to National Board of Directors of the PKD Foundation

April 23, 2015

San Diego, CA – Craig A. Ramseyer, a partner at Procopio, was recently elected to the National Board of Directors of the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) Foundation.

The PDK Foundation promotes programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and a cure for polycystic kidney disease and improve the lives of all it affects. Approximately 73 million American adults are at risk for kidney disease due to high blood pressure, diabetes or a family history of the genetic disorder. Of the more than 120,000 people on the national organ transplant waitlist, more than 98,000 are waiting for a life-saving kidney.

Craig has been actively involved with the PKD Foundation as well as the National Kidney Foundation for the last six years. During that time he has served as a board member, been an active supporter of the cause and participates with team Procopio in the annual kidney walk, which will be taking place this year on Sunday, May 3rd at Liberty Station.

“I am honored to be elected on the board of directors of the PKD Foundation, not only because of my personal connection to the cause, but because there are so many who are at risk of developing kidney disease,” said Craig. “Each year this disease kills more people than breast and prostate cancer combined. Organizations such as PDK help sound the alert about the public health problem of kidney disease and urge those at risk to get tested.”
