San Diego, CA – Procopio is proud to announce that associate Adriana Ochoa has been elected Board President of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Scholarship Fund. The board is responsible for determining who receives all scholarships and bar stipends.
Formed in 1979, San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association has grown to represent over three hundred Latino and Latina lawyers practicing in San Diego County. SDLRLA is one of 18 affiliate bar associations of the California La Raza Lawyers Association, which serves several thousand Latino lawyers practicing in the State of California. Their purpose is to advance the cause of equality, empowerment and justice for Latino attorneys and the Latino community in San Diego County through service and advocacy. They are dedicated to promoting diversity on both the bench and bar, as well as supporting law students with mentorship programs and scholarships.
“Procopio has always placed an emphasis on supporting diversity and the minority communities where our attorneys live and practice law,” said Procopio’s managing partner Tom Turner. “Adriana’s position as President of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Scholarship Fund supports this mission by increasing opportunities for young lawyers, who like Procopio, are dedicated to diversity, their communities and public service. We are proud of Adriana and her commitment to the values our founders endowed on our firm.”
