Schulten Ward & Turner's Record-Breaking Jury Trial Victory
October 31, 2014
Atlanta, Georgia - On October 29, 2014, two Schulten Ward & Turner litigation partners, name-partner Kevin Ward and Zack Zimmerman, were victorious in their jury trial against defendant Joseph Romeo for breach of a guaranty contract. After three days of trial in Georgia's Chatham County Superior Court, the jury took only eight minutes to reach a unanimous verdict and awarding the firm's client, an affiliate of Rialto Capital Partners, compensatory damages in the amount of $1,737,087, and $167,831 in attorneys' fees. Rumor has it that the trial set a new record for Chatham County: the shortest deliberation time ever spent by a jury before awarding a plaintiff's verdict in a contested proceeding.
