Attorney Mindy Morton Joins Procopio's Intellectual Property Litigation Team

San Diego, CA – Procopio continues to expand its expertise in the field of intellectual property litigation with the addition of Mindy M. Morton, who joins as Senior Counsel on the intellectual property litigation team. Ms. Morton has handled a variety of cases in state and federal courts, including trade secret, patent, trademark, copyright, computer fraud, and non-compete agreement litigation. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California and Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth and Federal Circuits.

Prior to joining Procopio, Ms. Morton was a partner at Bergeson LLP. She has also practiced at Squire Sanders & Dempsey, Fenwick & West, and Cahill Gordon & Reindel. Highlights of Ms. Morton’s career include serving as first chair in a $10 million jury trial in Santa Clara County Superior Court (DVS v. Sun, et al.), in which she obtained a nonsuit verdict, and representing Napster in its dispute with the recording industry. Ms. Morton received her JD from Yale Law School, where she served as Editor of the Yale Law Journal, and her Bachelor of Arts from University of California (Berkeley), receiving the Highest Distinction in General Scholarship and Highest Honors in Political Science. She served as the 2012 President of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees. She is also a member of the Open Courts Coalition, a bipartisan committee of attorneys from throughout California advocating full-funding of the civil justice system, the co-chair of the 50th Anniversary Committee for Schola Cantorum and past chair of its board of directors.
