Procopio Adds Associate to Labor and Employment Practice

April 9, 2013

San Diego, CA – Procopio is proud to announce the addition of Aimée E. Axelrod to its Labor and Employment practice group as an associate in the firm’s downtown San Diego office.

Ms. Axelrod represents employers in California State and Federal litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, unfair competition and wage and hour claims, particularly in the class action context.  She also provides employment counseling on a broad spectrum of day-to-day matters, including discipline, terminations, leaves of absence, and wage and hour issues. Ms. Axelrod has extensive experience in workplace investigations, which she conducts in both English and Spanish, and also assists employers in drafting policies, employee handbooks, and employment-related agreements to ensure compliance with California and federal laws while also serving employers’ individual business needs.  Ms. Axelrod focuses her practice on understanding and responding to companies’ operational realities, preventing litigation when possible, and approaching litigation aggressively but strategically when it does arise.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Aimée aboard. The combination of her knowledge in Labor and Employment law and her practical problem solving skills will mesh with this growing practice,” said the firm’s managing partner Tom Turner.

Prior to joining Procopio, Ms. Axelrod was an associate at Littler Mendelson in San Francisco where she handled litigation, arbitration, and counseling matters for employers. She additionally has extensive experience in corporate trademark licensing and product development.  Ms. Axelrod, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, received her B.A. from Hollins University and her J.D. from San Diego School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the San Diego Law Review.
